It will be beneficial to you, in your search for quality childcare, to print the following checklist to assist you in your search for a quality early childhood program.
Has the center been in service at this location for multiple years? Do the hours of operation meet my working needs?
Does the center accept infants? Does the center accept preschool? Does the center accept kindergarten? Does the center accept school aged? Has the center maintained long-term staff? Are staff members trained in First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse Recognition and Communicable Disease Recognition? Are the lead caregivers qualified? Is the Administrative staff degreed?
Is it true that your tuition rates are an outstanding value? Does the center provide a.m. snacks, hot lunch and p.m. snacks and are they included in my weekly tuition rate? Is breakfast available? Does the center offer a developmental program? Is your school in complete compliance with Ohio Department of Education's rules and regulations? Has the center maintained a consistent administrative staff? Is your center recognized by the state as a Drug Free Workplace? Are the playgrounds developmentally appropriate for various age groups? When you visit, do the staff and children sound happy? When you visit, does the indoor and outdoor areas appear safe? When you visited, were you impressed by the knowledge and personality of the director? Is your curriculum approved by the Ohio Department of Education? Is your curriculum in alignment with the Ohio Department of Education's Early Learning Content Standards?
